Come cut in the beautiful heart of Sonoma County’s wine country. Show your horse where the weather is mild, the cows are good, the ground is soft, and the company is superior. Join our clinics and mini series to practice, show, and win! We offer events year round, both on and off your trusty steeds. With an array of clinicians and judges, there is always something new to be learned and implemented in and out of the show pen. Don’t forget to sign up for our FRESH and rerun cattle classes held throughout each show! Hope to see you all soon!

President’s message for April 2019:
Dear Members & Sponsors,
Just one month until our first show on May 18th! I would like to remind you of the changes made to our shows this year. EVERY CLASS will be jackpotted, in addition to offering year end awards. We have also implemented for this year two ranch classes, the Ranch Limited Rider class – rider earnings not to have exceeded $250 and the Ranch Limited Horse class – horse earnings not to have exceeded $1000. In doing this we hope to attract those riders that need more show experience or horses that are coming up but need some show experience before going in the high level classes will have that opportunity.
PRDC hosted a work party on March 30th – they went all out, and the grounds are in good shape for our shows. A second work party is scheduled for May 4th for those finishing touches. Ground will be delivered sometime after May 4th so our cutting pen will be at its best for our cutters.
Our first practice of the year was unfortunately rained out, but we are looking forward to our Mother’s Day practice on Sunday, May 12th. This will be held at Wollenberg’s Wagon Wheel Ranch – look for the flyer in the newsletter/website.
I attended Redwood Empire Cutting Horse Association’s annual dinner last month. I am happy to announce that the partnership with our sister club is thriving. They are a Platinum Level sponsor of our club this year, and VCHA is co-hosting the hospitality table at their show at Rolling Hills Casino on April 20th. Their show runs April 19th – 21st – many of our members will be showing, Rolling Hills is a great venue, if you have time come on up and support!
As I mention every month, sponsor support is instrumental to our awards program. If you would like to sponsor VCHA please feel free to contact myself or any Board Member.
Lastly, applications are being finalized for our Kathy Feickert Memorial Youth Award, they should be available soon and we are honored to administer these funds for this worthy cause. Thank you to Stacey Powers and committee for their efforts on behalf of this very special award.
Looking forward to seeing you at our May show, we welcome Ryan Dobson as our judge.
